King Richard’s Faire is an annual Renaissance festival held in Carver, Massachusetts, in the United States. It is one of the largest and longest-running renaissance fairs in New England, and it has been held every fall since 1982. The festival features a wide range of activities and entertainment, including jousting tournaments, comedy and musical performances, interactive games, and historical demonstrations. Visitors can watch knights engage in battle on horseback, take part in archery or ax-throwing competitions, and even learn to dance the minuet or play the lute. There are also over 100 vendors selling everything from handmade crafts and jewelry to period costumes and weapons.
The faire raised our interest when we read about the annual cleavage contest there though! So, if you happen to be in Massachusetts next September 9, make sure to come see the breast of the best at King Richard’s faire! The cleavage contest is one of the few places where you can judge a book by its cover!
Last year’s winners can be found at the King Richard’s Faire Facebook. Part from the cleavages the fair is known for its elaborate costumes and immersive atmosphere, and visitors are encouraged to dress up in their own medieval or renaissance garb. The festival typically runs for eight weekends from September through October, and attracts thousands of visitors each year.
Overall, King Richard’s Faire offers a unique and entertaining way to experience the history and culture of the Renaissance period, and it has become a beloved tradition for many New Englanders.
